The Vision of Fully Opened Energy Channels

In meditation, what is called the full opening of the energy channels is not a dramatic or mystical state to be grasped, but the overall condition that appears when bodily and mental obstructions have been gradually released. In such a state, the movement of energy is no longer congested, and awareness becomes transparent, steady, and continuous. “Opening” here does not mean forcing something open, pursuing intense sensations, or producing unusual phenomena. It means that through long-term direct observation, coarse knots and tensions loosen, while breathing, body, mind, and awareness become increasingly coordinated. What matters is not “what I have gained,” but how blockage, resistance, and fragmentation gradually diminish, allowing the life process to reveal its inherent fluidity and clarity.

1. Understanding the Opening of the Energy Channels: Not a Mystical Power but a State of Unobstructed Flow

1.The opening is not an added attainment
It is not a new force suddenly inserted into the body, nor an external energy entering from outside. It is the natural life process no longer being continuously obscured by tension, attachment, restless activity, and coarse conditioning.

2.Opening means the reduction of obstruction
Its meaning lies not in strange experiences, but in the gradual fading of hardness, pressure, congestion, blockage, and inner division, allowing body and mind to function with softness and continuity.

3.Opening depends on overall coordination
If breathing is chaotic, the body tense, and the mind agitated, even strong local sensations do not indicate true opening. Genuine opening appears when breath, body, consciousness, and awareness move toward harmony together.

2. The Overall Picture as the Energy Channels Become Fully Opened

1.Breath becomes extremely subtle and pervading
Breathing is no longer coarse, hurried, or broken. It becomes fine, long, soft, and light, moving naturally in and out as though effortless, while carrying a sense of whole-body ease.

2.The contrast between inside and outside weakens
What once felt like a solid, sealed body gradually comes to be experienced as a transparent, loosened, and flowing process, with body boundaries becoming less sharply defined.

3.Energy flow becomes continuous and even
Warmth, light currents, vibration, expansion, and unobstructed movement are no longer only scattered local events, but may appear as a continuous whole-body circulation, with upper and lower, inner and outer responding together.

4.Local knots gradually dissolve
Areas once prone to congestion such as the chest, abdomen, throat, back, shoulders, neck, or brow may shift from blocked, hard, pressured, and tight into soft, open, and released, as if inner knots are slowly untying.

5.Body and mind show ease and clarity
This is not excitement, stimulation, or powerful impact, but a quiet, light, stable, and bright wholeness free from disorder.

3. Common Characteristics of Full Opening

1.The whole body feels integrated
Experience is no longer divided into disconnected parts. The sense of separation between above and below, inside and outside, front and back weakens, and the person feels like a single flowing field.

2.Energy is no longer confined to intense spots
Beginners often cling to heat, tingling, pulsation, or pressure in one area. As full opening matures, one no longer depends on a strong point to confirm experience. Instead, the field becomes even, calm, and unobstructed.

3.Breath and energy flow correspond to one another
Inhalation and exhalation are no longer felt merely as lung movements, but as connected with the opening and closing of the whole body–mind process.

4.Mental activity interferes less
When the channels are unobstructed, discursive thought no longer constantly creates contraction in the body. Awareness can remain with the present as a more complete and coherent field.

5.Awareness naturally covers the whole body
There is no need to chase one point. Awareness itself can spread gently and evenly through the body, illuminating it as a unified field of clear knowing.

4. Transformations Brought by Fully Opened Energy Channels

1.Heaviness decreases noticeably
What once felt dense, tight, hard, and stagnant becomes light, loose, soft, and smooth.

2.Fragmentation begins to disappear
One may previously have felt body, breath, and thought as separate and conflicting zones. With opening, experience becomes increasingly whole rather than broken.

3.Resistance gradually dissolves
The tendency to struggle against pain, numbness, heaviness, or agitation weakens. Body and mind become more capable of receiving, circulating, and digesting experience.

4.Stability becomes more natural
Because obstruction is reduced, attention no longer needs to fight constant inner conflict. Collectedness becomes more natural, not mainly based on suppression, but grounded in unobstructed flow.

5.Present experience becomes more transparent
Breath, body, energy sensation, and thought are more directly seen, no longer hidden beneath a thick and muddy layer of confusion. Experience becomes clearer and simpler.

5. How to Properly Understand the Vision of “Complete Opening”

1.It is not a permanent peak state
Complete opening is not a constant high-intensity climax. It is the condition in which obstruction has largely fallen away, allowing body and mind to return again and again to natural balance, softness, and flow.

2.Stronger is not necessarily better
Intense heat, vibration, or impact does not always mean greater opening. Often the more mature the opening, the quieter, subtler, more even, and less disturbing it becomes.

3.It is not achieved by force
Any attempt to forcefully drive energy upward, downward, or through the body easily creates new tension and deviation. Opening comes from release and direct observation, not from attack.

4.It is not the endpoint of practice
Even highly unobstructed experiences remain phenomena within the path. The true heart of practice is still non-attachment, non-identification, and direct knowing.

6. Avoiding Misunderstanding and Attachment

1.Do not treat the vision as proof of attainment
If one sees transparency, flow, radiance, or expansion, one should not immediately conclude that some fixed spiritual level has been reached. That very conclusion becomes a new obstruction.

2.Do not compare with others
Each person’s body–mind structure, conditioning, and mode of perception differ. The way opening appears will therefore differ as well, and should not be measured against another person’s account.

3.Do not chase extraordinary images or responses
The core of real opening is unobstructed flow, ease, clarity, and non-separation, not visions, strange phenomena, powers, or impressive experiences.

4.Return to observation itself
What matters most is not “how open the channels are,” but whether awareness is steady, soft, and clear, and whether all phenomena can be known without grasping.

Conclusion

The vision of fully opened energy channels is not a theatrical explosion or a mystical label. It is the condition in which coarse bodily and mental obstructions have been widely released, allowing breath, body, energy flow, thought, and awareness to function as one unobstructed whole. In such experience, the breath is subtle yet unbroken, the body relaxed yet collected, the energy moving yet unstuck, and awareness bright yet unforced. Mature practice does not cling to this vision. Instead, through it, one sees more deeply that all experience is fluid, impermanent, and not-self, and thus returns to clear, stable, and uncontrived awareness.
