Practicing the Direct Seeing of Emptiness
Seeing emptiness is not abstract reasoning, but directly recognizing the lack of inherent nature in experience.
1. Stability as Foundation
A scattered mind cannot see clearly.
Concentration supports insight.
Without stability, emptiness is obscured.
2. Experience as Focus
Begin with immediate experience.
Avoid conceptual pursuit.
Emptiness appears here.
3. Change as Entry Point
Sensations arise and pass.
Thoughts shift continuously.
Impermanence reveals emptiness.
4. Relational Observation
All phenomena depend on conditions.
Nothing exists independently.
This is dependent arising.
5. Avoiding Fixation
Do not form final conclusions.
Conclusions harden into concepts.
Remain open.
6. Awareness as Safeguard
Emptiness is not negation.
It dissolves inherent existence.
Awareness prevents extremes.
7. Release as Result
Seeing emptiness loosens grasping.
Clinging naturally fades.
This confirms insight.
8. Ordinary Mind as Completion
Emptiness is not mystical.
It is simple seeing.
Nothing special is required.
Summary
Emptiness is not produced but recognized. Seeing itself releases attachment.
