Experiencing the Unobstructed Emptiness of the Mind
Emptiness in practice does not mean absence, but a mind unobstructed and unoccupied. When grasping, judgment, and self-centeredness loosen, openness and ease naturally appear. Experiencing such unobstructed emptiness marks the maturation of concentration and insight.
1. Emptiness Does Not Deny Experience
1.Emptiness is not blankness
Experiences arise without obstruction.
2.Emptiness is not withdrawal
It is openness within life.
3.Emptiness is capacity
Phenomena come and go freely.
2. How Obstruction Forms
1.Grasping experience
Attachment narrows the mind.
2.Ego-centered orientation
Everything revolves around “me.”
3.Constant judgment
Flow is interrupted by evaluation.
3. How to Experience Unobstructed Emptiness
1.Relaxing control
Allowing experience to unfold.
2.Noticing spaciousness
Awareness of space around objects.
3.Non-entanglement with content
Letting phenomena pass.
4.Resting in open awareness
Awareness itself has no boundary.
4. Transformations Within Emptiness
1.Pressure decreases
The mind carries less weight.
2.Emotions flow freely
They do not stagnate.
3.Understanding widens
Narrow views dissolve.
4.Compassion deepens
Greater space allows greater care.
5. Emptiness and Stability Together
1.Unobstructed means stable
Nothing to get stuck on.
2.Openness is not distraction
Clear openness sharpens focus.
3.Emptiness nurtures wisdom
Insight arises naturally within it.
Conclusion
Experiencing unobstructed emptiness is not attaining a special state but releasing burdens that block the mind. When nothing occupies the heart, clarity and ease remain.
