捕鸟人
过去有个深知鸟性的捕鸟人，每次外出捕鸟不曾空手而返。一天，他在沼泽边架设了罗网，并在网中放着诱鸟的食物，不一会儿功夫，鸟群纷纷飞来竞食。躲在一旁的捕鸟人迅速地将网口一缩，鸟群纷纷堕至网中，惊慌失措。
当时，有一只大鸟振翅将罗网撑了起来，率领众鸟一起奋力顶着网子齐飞，于是在捕鸟人来到之前，群鸟已同心协力地飞离。捕鸟人望着鸟群，在地上拼命地追，有人笑他：「鸟在空中飞，你在地上跑，怎追得上呢？」捕鸟人说：「鸟群的栖息习性不同，到了晚上，他们一定会因意见不合而堕地。」他不顾别人的劝说，仍拼命地追逐。
到了黄昏，鸟群果真在空中嘎嘎地起了争执，有的要向东飞，有的要朝西飞，有的要往山林，有的要去溪涧，争执得非常厉害，结果都忘了处境的危险。不一会儿，罗网内的鸟一起堕地，通通被捕鸟人所捕获。

The Bird Catcher
In the past, there was a bird catcher who thoroughly understood the nature of birds. Each time he went out to catch birds, he never returned empty-handed. One day, he set up a net by a marsh and placed bait inside it. Before long, flocks of birds flew in to compete for the food. The bird catcher, hiding nearby, quickly tightened the net, and the birds fell into it in panic.
At that moment, a large bird spread its wings and lifted the net, leading the flock to rise together while supporting it. Before the catcher arrived, the birds, united in effort, managed to fly away. The catcher ran desperately on the ground after them. Someone laughed and said, “The birds are flying in the sky while you run on the ground—how can you possibly catch them?” The catcher replied, “The birds have different habits. By evening, they will surely fall due to disagreement.” Ignoring others’ advice, he continued his pursuit.
At dusk, the flock indeed began to quarrel in the air. Some wanted to fly east, some west, some toward the mountains, others toward the streams. Their dispute became intense, and they forgot the danger of their situation. Before long, the birds within the net fell to the ground together and were all captured by the bird catcher.
