Observing Interdependence and the Absence of Substance

All phenomena arise through temporary convergence of conditions. Taking them as inherently existent leads to fixation. By observing interdependence, the illusion of essence loosens, revealing a fluid and relational world.

1. Relationship as the Lens

Nothing exists in isolation.
Without relations, nothing stands.
Independence is conceptual.

2. Causal Chains as Method

Phenomena arise from causes and effects.
Nothing appears from nothing.
Tracing reveals insubstantiality.

3. Analysis as Practice

Break down what seems whole.
Each part depends on conditions.
Substance dissolves under scrutiny.

4. Change as Proof

Essence would imply permanence.
Change disproves essence.
Flux is fundamental.

5. Function over Substance

Observe function and interaction.
No fixed core is required.
Function suffices.

6. Mutuality and Equality

No phenomenon is central.
Each supports and limits others.
Equality emerges.

7. Daily Life as Confirmation

Eating, walking, speaking show dependence.
Everyday life teaches directly.
Observation stays practical.

8. Openness as Completion

Do not cling to conclusions.
Keep understanding flexible.
This is living interdependence.

Summary

Seeing interdependence clearly dismantles the illusion of substance. Reality appears as a network of relations, not a collection of solid things.
