Braised White Radish
Summary:
This is a comforting vegetarian home-style dish, with tender white radish braised in a light savory sauce for a mellow and satisfying flavor.
Ingredients:
White radish 400g (peeled and cut into chunks)
Light soy sauce 1.5 tbsp
Dark soy sauce 0.5 tbsp
Sugar 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
White pepper powder to taste
Water as needed
Cooking oil 1 tbsp
Instructions:
1.Prepare ingredients:
Peel, wash, and cut the white radish into evenly sized chunks.
2.Blanch:
Bring a pot of water to a boil, blanch the radish for 1 minute, then drain.
3.Pan-fry lightly:
Heat oil in a pan, add the radish, and stir-fry over low heat until slightly translucent.
4.Braised cooking:
Add light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and enough water to cover half the radish. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10 minutes.
5.Finish and serve:
Once the sauce thickens slightly, season with salt and white pepper, turn off the heat, and serve.
